you can ask a c.o. of the facility said person is at if there is any hold on them . thou it may not show up until release ,but then also by asking if the c.o can look he may be then inclined to look in a federal data base to see if there are any out of state warrents for said person . if it is a felony charge then most likely they will bring him to what ever state he has a warrant in.

In Order to be extradited from one state to another does the crime have to be a felony?

im assumming they couldAdded: Yes, they will. All US states and territories honor each other's requests for extradition - there are no 'safe-haven' states - It is impossible to know with certainty whether a particular state will choose to extradite you for a particular offense, or not, there are simply too many variables. It may depend, in part, on the offense and the seriousness of it, and/or how badly they want you returned - most states WILL extradite for felony offenses and crimes of violence.

if ot is a felony warrant and then only if the issuing state is willing to extradite. for some crimes even though they may fall under felony warrants it is not worth the cost.Added: Where the law is concerned, never say "never!" Can you renew an Ohio drivers lice-se in Ohio If you have a warrant in California?

well, it's like this, it all depends on what you have the warrant for. If you have a felony warrant and it is for murder, I wouldn't try to renew my license. No misdemeanor felony court will extradite you. It has to be a felony (or capias warrant) If it is a capias warrant you bet ya they will come get you! Most states do not extradite, especially that far, unless it is a serious charge (mass murder, mass molestation or rape or child support) If you get pulled over or have police contact they will or could run a NCIC (National Criminal Information Center)and they know all you have done in the US. That can mean trouble. But I think getting your license renewed is the least of the California's police problems....I know the BMV has no way of running a NCIC, but if you have a wanted poster posted at the BMV, then someone could recognize you. What states will not extradite you to mass for a felony?

No state ever refuses or blocks an extradition order unless the Defendant can prove he is not the person stated on the Warrant. It's up to the state that issued the warrant to arrange for extradition.Added: All US states and territories honor each other's requests for extradition - there are no 'safe-haven' states - It is impossible to know with certainty whether a particular state will choose to extradite you for a particular offense, or not, there are simply too many variables.
