== == * Symptoms: thirst, lack of energy, always tired, weight loss, urinate frequently, loss of appetite. If you think you have any of these, I would suggest consulting your doctor == == * The best way to tell is to simply see your doctor for a diagnosis. If there are diabetics in your family you have a higher risk of getting it. Some people experience no symptoms of diabetes. You can also see your pharmacist and get urine strips (directions on the package.) My mother was diabetic from the age of 35 until she passed away just before her 84th birthday, so if one has diabetes and follows their doctor's instructions they can live a long and basically normal lifestyle.

If they don't know that they have diabetes then how can you come up with a statistic?

I can think of three causes. 1. Hypoglycemia - It's a deficiency of glucose in the bloodstream. 2. Diabetes - Most people know what diabetes is, basically the body's inability to breakdown sugars, so insulin needs to be taken. However, if you had diabetes, chances are you would already know about it. 3. Gastritis - This is caused by an inflammation in the digestive tract. You should see your doctor, as it could be serious.
