1 of the 2 hoses that go to the core are much cooler then the other,indicaring a clog
normally when the heater core becomes plugged you will have n eat and you will notice a definite spike in engine temperature.
Could you rephrase the question? is your heater core plugged up or clogged or do you want to know how to turn your heater off?
If the engine is getting up to normal temp, the heater core might be plugged. Heater core is not plugged and normal operating temp!
I KNOW IT CAN BE THE BRAIN BOX, HEATER CORE, PLUGGED UP HEATER CORE, A COMPRESSION HOSE, AND ALSO A DOOR THAT DOES NOT OPEN TO LET THE HEAT IN, A THERMOSTATE I HAVE MINE FIGURED DOWN TO PLUGGED UP HEATER CORE, OR A DOOR AND TRYING TO FIND OUT WHERE THE DOOR IS CAUSE I HEAR A CLICKING, AND WANT TO HAVE SOMEONE TRY TO OPEN IT.
It's possible that your heater core is plugged up. It can also be a bad thermostat.

Stop leak will generally plug up holes u want plugged, but they will also plug up holes u don't want plugged. Better to fix the heater core.

one of two things , #1, low on antifreeze or #2 , heater core plugged up.
possibly clogged heater core, remove heater core hoses and flush with a hose until clean. reinstall hoses fill with coolant and let it run. if heater core is too plugged up you will have to replace it.
