Hermit crabs, like all other crabs, lay eggs to procreate. You would need a mating pair to breed them, and you would have to create conditions that simulate a natural environment.

Show Love and CARE for your hermit crab.
No crabs don't know their babies - they release them into the sea while they are still microscopic.
They don't hurt each other

The land hermit crab has a big claw and a small claw. The ocean hermit crab's claw's are the same size.

no because you don't know what the lizard can do to a hermit crab?
An egg will be there and it will be cracked.
yes although it would be wise to clean and disinfect it first, you don't know why your old crab might have died.
Nothing really. It is probably molting or just trying to get some shade. Look up " What should you do when your hermit crab is molting? " for what to do when your hermit crab is molting. Or just type in " molting " to know what molting is.
I dont think that i can know that, but i have a hermit crab and they talk with a vibration noise, like a cricket sort of! lol i hear it all the time=) so i guess thats their breeding call lol good luck!
