When he/she starts to sniff the floor, becomes desperate, bites stuff, walks in circle, wonder off in other rooms.
I have a toy poodle, 4 months old, im trying to train her to let me know when to use the bathroom. I recommend to put a bell at the door where it can reach, and every time it goes to use the bathroom, let it sniff the bell, and then get her paw and gently touch it, then reward her with a treat and congratulate it and it will know to ring the bell to use the bell, may take a while for her to get the hang of it. Oh, and when you sitting/ sleeping it will make you get up by scratching or whimpering, etc. It means she has to use the bathroom.
