How do you know that your fuel pump is bad on your 1997 dodge stratus?

Disconnect the line from the fuel rail. Stick the end in a jar and crank the engine. If it pumps gas out, the pump is working. Although you may have a problem with pressure. You will need to check the pressure of the fuel output.
