Catholics built Cathedrals and know that they are going to continue standing. Most of the great scientists through the ages who have made discoveries which started the science of physics have been Catholics.
I know of no country that was started by Catholics to avoid persecution by the British. However, one of the colonies, Maryland, was created as a refuge for English Catholics. Later it became the state of Maryland.
This is tied into Palm Sunday. Palm trees grow in the Holy Land and are associated with Peace, as is the Olive Branch.
