Here in the US, it is conveniently printed on most calendars. The actual, or traditional date of observance is October 12th. However; since 1971 here in the US, it is observed on the second Monday in October to comprise a 3-day weekend for some of us. In 2012, the holiday was observed on October 8th; and in 2013, it will be observed on October 14th.
