How do you know when a close guy friend loves you more than a friend?

The only clues would be if he held hands with you, kissed you or told you he loved you. Other than that he may just look on you as a friend and nothing more.
You would know, ask him out, you should totally go for it or you will spend the rest of you life wondering what would have happened if you asked him out! If that guy likes to hug you or hold hands he is telling you I like you. Yet if he kisses you he is saying will you be my girlfriend.
