Guinea pigs don't play in the sense that cats and dogs do. Cats and dogs practise heir predatory skills by playing (running, catching, fetching, etc..). Guinea pigs are prey animals and cannot play in the same way other animals can.
To avoid your guinea pig being bored you should never own just one guinea pig. You need to provide your animal with company of its kind.
