If you put Hydrilla plant in a beaker having pond water and an inverted test tube filled with water inserting the twig of hydrilla, and keep it in sunlight; the air bubbles start comimng out and stored in the test tube. The liberated gas is tested as oxygen. This means the hydrilla plant is photosynthesizing.

Another experiment is done by testing the presence of starch in a plant by iodine test.

I order to know if photosynthesis has taken place, you need to know whether it has made it's own food (glucose) by adding iodine to one sample of a leaf. If it turned black, then it has glucose in it, if brown, then no glucose in it. Then you need to find if it has stored starch. That's what you find and if you found the answer please continue on this and explain in more.

when the process of photosynthesis takes place then glucose is formed as a product. then , this glucose only is stored in the plants in the form of starch in leaves , stems , etc. parts of the plant.

therefore , to determine whether photosynthesis has taken place or not the presence of starch can be tested in a plant by an experiment.
