Well... I first KNEW i was emo when i started getting depressed, and i started runnin' with the "emo crowd" and i started not following rules and i was cutting and crying all of the time so i knew i was emo. and also when people started to tell me i was turning into an emo kid.

You know you are emo when music like heavy metal, screamer etc becomes a fairly big subject in your life. You also know that you are emo when you dont act the same as non-emo's, i.e. listening to dubstep. And you also find yourself wearing some form of black in your clothing as well as having hair covering one eye, not all emo's do that but the majority of emo's do.... there are many other things how you know that you are emo and they are just a small portion. But be-ware that if you believe that you are emo that you stay away from being a 'poser.'
