One of the apps on the bottom screen show the Pokemon in your party just floating around. If you tap one with your stylus and hold it there, you will see hearts growing on the sides. First, there is just one small heart on the left, then there will be a heart on the left and right side, finally, there will be a bigger heart on each side. The final form is when the Pokemon can't love you even more.
