I don't recognize that as a serial number used since 1954. It's either not a FN Browning Hi Power or it's older then I know about.

In an assembly plant. from what I know the Golf is assembled in Mexico, as for the GTI, it use to come from Germany but I'm not sure if that is true today.
There made in Serbia and assembled in America, do know that.
