A real (tournament legal) Yu-Gi-Oh card will have "Yu-Gi-Oh" written in English over the logo on the back, and on the opposite corner (also on the back) you will see the konami logo. On the front, lower right corner, you will see a silver/rainbow holographic stamp. You should see a millennium eye in the hologram somewhere.
You'll also want to watch for the card number which is located underneath the picture on the right side. Newer cards will look something like this - SD3-EN030. That indicates the pack it came from and where it was distributed as well as the number of the card in the set.
When you buy any form of a yugioh card pack take out the cards and gently rub it (this is one way to tell if they're real, but it only works when their brand new or old but haven't been opened yet). If turns out to be really smooth it is one sign that it is real but also check the spelling. if the spelling is completely correct for that card that is another sign. The third sign is their should be a gold or silver square at the bottom right corner and the grey lines that frames the card should be even of width on the and the back. Rare cards have their names in silver but not shiny on the picture; super rare cards have their names printed as it would be but if turn the the card in a different angle then looking at it the picture should be flashing in a rainbow colour of the whole picture;secret rare cards have the same properties of a super rare card except in stead of a whole picture flash it shines with diagonal lines also rainbow; Ultra rare cards have the same properties of a super rare card as well but the picture flash stays the same while the name is coloured gold. Although I have never encountered an ultimate rare or secret ghost rare card I have heard alot about them.
If you see a card with 1st editon (or hower you spell) cheeck the botom right corner if its gold its good if silver its fake, if it doesn't have 1st edition, it must have a silver square, if a common card is shiny and smooth, it is sooooooo fake! Don't fall for real bargains because i am 99.9999999999999999percent it is fake! If a booster pack has very less cards in it and costs so much your pocket money is nearly 0 that i am 89.99999percent sure it's real!
To tell if a "Yu-Gi-Oh!" card is fake it must have these things on the card: Too much shininess Completely different features (a trap card has Atk.) Has a different name ("Jar of Greed" could be come "Take The Cards!") Has a different "Yu-Gi-Oh!" symbol on the back. The backing is different. There may be some others I've probably missed out.
im not sure.......but i tihkn this will help 1:if a friend gives u a card without a cover on it it must be fake 2:try bending it(it will probly rip if its fake if it bends dont worry its ok u can still use it) 3:nobody can draw that good!
First take a look at the card. on the bottom right side of the card you will see what year the card was made in, then if the card has a shiny part, it's real. Another way you could tell is by comparing the card because not one copy looks exactly the same. Look real close, you'll see the difference.
If the back is dark in the sun it is real .If it is not dark in the sun it is fake.
The backs will have Konami at the top left, bottom right should say yugioh trading card game and there is a tiny sticker on the bottom right on the front
You can tell a card us real because it will have a code at the bottom or a number and this will be real because no one else will have the same no as u
1st by experience and 2nd u look at the back and see if its the right colour or not

maybe , maybe not. A real question would be, can yugioh championship 2008 NOT trade with yugioh gx? Does anyone know how to unlock Sonic in Super smash Bros. Brawl?
