I have a 91 240SX and had a similar issue, my Fuel Pump had to be replaced.
Imagine a straight line directly down from the center of the distributor. The oil pump is in the bottom of the engine and straight down from the distributor.
The fuel pump on a 1991 Nissan 240 SX is located back by the fuel tank. It is an in-line pump, in the fuel line that runs from the gas tank to the carburetor. It is about the same size as a large soup can.
It is a mechanical fuel pump located on the engine. It is in the drivers side front below the distributor.
The original bleeder valve is located at the water pump and when you burp the line the coolant goes all over the water pump to the distributor. This could corrode the Optispark distributor.

I am not sure about a 2500 but on a 1500 it is on the firewall almost directly above the distributor.

There is a hexagonal rod between the oil pump and distributor. As the distributor turns so does the oil pump. The newer DIS engines use a distributor plug that retains the drive gear for the oil pump rod.
