Logging in to Mail occurs when Mail starts, and also automatically if you use the iCloud service. If you don't want to get messages that you have new mail, don't use iCloud 'Push' services. The push service will send notifications to you even if you are not logged in.

∙ 11y agoYou go on settings and select mail,contacts, and calendar. After that you select iCloud at the top, you should see a delete button all the way at the bottom.
