how do I loosen and adjust altinator
no it wont cause the engine mountings are different
They looked similar but they were in fact a bit different from each other, and as such not interchangeable.
First you will need to loosen the tension on the belt in order to remove the belt. After that, you will need to remove the bolt holding on the alternator. Installation is the reverse. Dont forget to tension the belt
loosen the alternator bolts up and push down on the alternator and take the old belt off and reinstall new belt over the pulleys and pry up on the alternator until you get about a 1/2" play in the belt when you push down on the belt and then tighten all the alternator bolts.
To remove the alternator: 1. Disconnect the battery ground wire. 2. Disconnect the wiring harness at the alternator. 3. Loosen the mounting bolt and the adjuster bolts, remove the belt. 4. Finish removing the bolts and lift the alternator out of its mount. Installation is the reverse of removal.
Plymouth Avenue Bridge was created in 1983.

triple diodes in alternator are bad
The voltage regulator is built into the alternator.
assuming you have the new alternator, make sure if your belt is warn you have a new one on hand, there are 2 bolts to be concerned with, the top one on the sliding bracket and the bottom one that holds the alternator, loosen the slide bracket bolt to free the belt, remove belt and the bolt. then remove the bottom bolt (might need a breaker bar for this). but new one in the way the old on came out. make sure you tighten the belt correctly on the alternator or it could fly off.
It should
