No, you cannot target a specific spot to lose, or not lose weight. When you lose weight, you lose it over the whole body. But why don't you try some cardio exercises to lose your unwanted fat and you can have a healthy heart too! Situps are used to build ab muscles rather than burning belly fat.
Subcutaneous Fat
try lose weight or ask
Subcutaneous fat is adipose tissue that lies superficial and close to the skin whereas visceral fat is adipose tissue that lies around the central organs (the viscera). Generally, visceral fat is considered a lot more harmful to health than subcutaneous fat as it affects the viscera and causes conditions such as diabetes mellitus and also heart disease.
You cannot target a specific area of the body to store fat, or lose it for that matter. Your genetics decides where fat is stored, but the most common places are around the abdominals, butt, and thighs.
The hypodermis contains subcutaneous fat.
Visceral (belly) fat is associated with a higher risk of heart disease. Subcutaneous fat (overall or more on the butt) is less risky for heart disease.
The subcutaneous layer of skin stores fat. The subcutaneous layer is the third layer from the epidermis, which is the outside layer.
Subcutaneous fat is generally resistant to dieting because it tends to be stubborn and harder to lose compared to visceral fat. Factors such as genetics, hormones, and lifestyle can play a role in how much subcutaneous fat a person has and how difficult it is to reduce through diet alone. Incorporating a combination of a healthy diet, regular exercise, and potentially other lifestyle changes may help in reducing subcutaneous fat over time.
