WARNING: Only works if you have successfully logged into steam before.
This is how to make Terraria/steam work on your computer (if it's not working.)
1. Open up Windows Task Manager.
2. Click the tab that says "Processes".
3. Find Steam.exe, click it and then click "End Process".
4. Open Steam from your Desktop.
5. Let it load. It might take awhile.
6. Done!

To make a furnace in Terraria, you need 20 stone, 4 wood and 1 torch. You need to stand next to a workbench in order to make it.
It shouldn't. However, you should try changing your graphics settings in Terraria to a lower setting (example: high -> low). If that doesn't work, do a google search. If no results pop up, make a thread on the terrariaonline forums.

you can't craft in terraria like you can in Minecraft but you have options of what you can "craft" in your quick menu. It just gives you things you can make with the resources you have in your inventory.
