This cocktail is a great Thanksgiving Day drink that will get the festivities going and wake up the appetite. It's very American, from top to bottom.
1 part Southern Comfort (100 proof is best)
1/2 part Wild Turkey bourbon whiskey
1/2 part Applejack*
1/4 part Rose's Lime juice
4 parts cranberry juice.
Build ingredients over a highball glass filled with ice or, better yet, make a pitcher of the stuff!
* Laird's Applejack is as American as apple pie. America's oldest native distillery, Laird & Company (est. 1780) is still in existence in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Historical records show that George Washington wrote to the Laird family prior to 1760 and requested their recipe for Applejack, which the family gladly supplied.
If you don't have any applejack on hand, you could try some apple pucker (the stuff you make appletinis with), but I would use only 1/4 part, because much more will ruin the color of the cocktail.
