1. Reduce the total mass (make it weigh less)
2. Improve stability- the greater the stability the straighter the rocket's flight the higher it will go, an unstable rocket will spin about erratically which greatly reduces the peak altitude (height)
3. Don't launch when it's cold and windy- both of these affect the rocket's altitude
4. Reduce the Cd (coefficient of drag)- this is rather complicated, you usually worry about this when you are designing a rocket, not after it's built. However, painting your rocket will help.
5. Get a bigger/more powerful motor!- the motor probably affects a rockets altitude more than anything else.
Ok, so what my friend and I did was we took the actual firework off the stick and put it in a pipe or PVC pipe and you can use this a gun to have a war (which is what we did) or stick it straight up and it will shoot straighter and inturn higher.
A coke and mentos rocket works very well. If you have the spout if the rocket facing downward, and the cap loose, you can fill the bottle with coke. Any decent side fins can be made from cardboard, but you can use something lighter, like tissue paper, to increase air-speed velocity. You can attach these using my favorite type of tape, Scotch Tape. A nose cone can be made from a party hat. You make those, or buy one at any iParty stores. If you put a mentos in the bottle of the bottle rocket, pour in 3/4 cups of coke, and shake the rocket, the reaction time should be slow enough to put it down an walk 20 paces away. Once it lands, be careful, now that coke and mentos has reacted with each-other, the substance can be toxic to any young children. The acidity level would have been built up high enough so that it can burn any child's stomach lining. Go to the ER immediately if a child is to touch/swallow it.
What makes a rocket fly farther? Cones and wings do! If you add a cone or wings to the rocket it'll fly farther because the cone and the wings help the rocket cut through the air. Therefore there is less air resistance that decreases the distance that the rocket flies.
It goes futher by the cone or the nose.
it pushes the rocket into the air to make it go higher.
If you are in Science Olympiad, a bottle rocket is a modified 2 liter bottle designed to stay up in the air longer than its competitors. Another type of bottle rocket is a type of firework you place in a bottle to make it launch.
add more mentos!
by water being placed into the bottle and then, when you launch your rocket, the rocket will spin (if it has at least 2 fins) and the water will spurt out and make the rocket go higher in the air. (Tip:the more it spins, the higher it will fly)
Water, an empty plastic bottle and an air pump.
you put some water in the bottom of your rocket/bottle and get a bicycle pump keep pumping air in to the rocket sets off and make sure you watch your face they can be highly dangerous! hope this helps
A nuisance, a fire-hazard, and in most residential communities, a violation of local ordinance.
The fuel being ignited by a spark is what propels a rocket to blast off. The mass and the speed are factors as well.

Yes if you use compressed air inside the rocket. Or you can use agitated methanol and a flame for thrust like a whoosh rocket.
make it hold as much pressure as possible and experiment with the amount of fluid/air.
Water serves as the reaction mass in a water bottle rocket. When the water is pressurized and released, it creates the thrust that propels the rocket into the air. Additionally, the water helps to stabilize the rocket by shifting its center of mass downward as it is expelled.
