How do you make a chipmunk friendly?

I just did this today, get some sunflower seeds, peanuts, cashews, etc any nut and some smaller berries work. Then you go near the chipmunks feeding areas and hold still where he can see the treat you have for him. If you dont know where they are feeding you can put some nuts around or a birdfeeder up. Sunflower seeds that fall out from birds dropping them will become a valuable asset for the chipmunk population so they will come around often. It only takes a half hour or less to get a chipmunk to be comfortable in close proximity to you as long as you don't move much. He will eventually take the treat from you, the more you do this the more tame they become. They are friendly, I've never been bit by one that hurt although occasionally they test your finger to see if it's food. You can even tame them to jump to your hand from other objects for treats or to climb you or get them out of your pockets. You can pet them while they eat your treats but they need to warm up to you doing that. Hope it works out for you!
