No. Egg custard, or custard is made with egg yolks, milk and sugar. It is a pudding, in german or american cuisines. It can be baked into pies, added to cakes or pastries or baked and served as is.

It's actually very easy to make vegetarian custard. The original recipe for custard is already vegetarian, so all you have to do is nothing. Just follow the usual recipe for custard and you'll have vegetarian custard.

Heat it up slighlty and serve with hot custard or hot ccream :)
Cut circles of cake using a glass of the appropriate dimension or store bought cake discs. Place each in the center of a nice desert plate.Dip a clean knife into hot water and run the knife around the edge of the custard in the baking cup/dish. Turn custard cup over on top of cake circles centering the custard on the cake.Over the top, pour your favorite topping, perhaps chocolate or caramel sauce, strawberries in syrup, etc.Get a fork, sit down and dig in.
