This is EXTREMELY difficult to do but it IS possible. The first step is to make your drum kit LOOK like a zebra. Order custom zebra-print drum shells from your drum manufacturer. Or, better yet, if your drum set is already white, grab a black sharpie and go crazy!!

Now that your drum set looks like a zebra it's time to make it SOUND like one!! One way many percussionists make their drum set mimic the sound of a zebra is to take a violin bow, place it perpendicular to the crash or ride cymbal, place you index finger lightly on the bottom of the cymbal, and then slide the bow down the cymbal while pushing hard against the cymbal. After some practice it should begin to sound IDENTICAL to a dying zebra.

Of course, if you want to mimic the sound of a LIVING zebra that is much more difficult and only a couple percussionists have mastered the art today. Try playing a basic rock beat on hi-hat, bass, and snare. While doing so, sneakily begin to neigh (make it more of a high-pitched squeal, similar to the sound donkeys make). Allow your voice to grow louder and louder until you are practically screaming. Your audience won't be able to tell if you are making the noise or if your drum set sounds like a Zebra!!!!

Good luck and be sure to post a video to YouTube once you master the technique!
