A few aircraft companies, such as Chance-Vought and Sikorsky, have built disc shaped flying vehicles. The main problem with such aircraft (similar to the flying wing) is that they are very unstable and need a lot of effort, and money, to keep them up in the air. It's probably better to build a remote controlled flying saucer aircraft model, than to try and build and fly a real disc shaped aircraft.
