How do you make a mask out of a sheet of Styrofoam?
Cut out mask using any standard mask pattern. Glue various decorations, glitter, yarn, sequins. Staple a piece of yarn on each side, and tie in back to hold mask on face.
With several choices of decorating materials, children can be very creative.

The one I've seen is a Mardi Gras mask. Cut a paper plate in half. Glue (or staple) a craft stick to the lower corner of the flat side. Cut a slot to look through. Cut a 3" (or so) Styrofoam ball in half, glue glitter or paint with glitter paint, glue to paper plate just above the slot, as two eyes. Hold mask in front of face. If desired, paint or glue other face…
No! Absolutely not. OK, I'm no building inspector but my understanding is that sheet rock is used because of it's excellent resistance to fire (it's made of powdered rock). Styrofoam melts like cotton candy under heat. If you are renting a property with exposed styrofoam, call the local government's building inspector and ask what you should do.
