Recently, there was an update for xbox live which enabled users to 'rent a server'. This means that you rent a server using microsoft points and the server is under your control for the length of time that you have rented it for. It enables you to change and edit the game modes, maps and game settings and also who is allowed to join your game. You can set the settings to private (you need a particular password to enable you to join the game) or closed so nobody else can join. This enables you to play with just your friends and is the equivalent to a private match.
In order to have a private match, you have to rent a server. See related link.
Battlefield 3 probably won't be Battlefield, according to developer DICE.
since the latest patch, all games platforms can have private servers. you rent them on rent a server.

By getting XP from reviving teamates, kills, repairs, kill assists, compliting entire match, wining a match, resupplying your team with ammo, kill steaks ect.
Battlefield 3 does not record a replay of an online match, that is audio/video. It does however record the statistics of the players in a match, to be precise Battlelog, a component of the game does this. This means a player with a Battlelog (Origin / EA) account can log into the website and view the kills, deaths, score, accuracy and so forth of all other player in that game.
Install the HD textures on console.
