here is an example:

lets say you are crossing yy * Yy.. first separate the letters (they are called alleles by the way)

so for yy --> you have y and y

for Yy--> you have Y and y

For the first gene yy --> put each corresponding letter on top as shown in the picture.. so horizontally. Now do the same thing for Yy but this time vertically.

Then in the corresponding boxes combine the letters and there u have it
