First wash your horses tail. Then braid their tail but loosly at the top and tight at the bottom. Then run the bottom of the braid through the top of the braid until it is in a ball then take some vet wrap and wrap it around the ball ( If you want your horse to still have a temporary tail to swat at the flys with get some hay string and run it through the ball of the hair). Now it is wraped.
Also If you have a tail bag you can wrap their tail with it. Wash the tail. Then braid it ( It doesn't matter if the braid is tight or loose). Then take some vet wrap and wrap just a little bit of the tail say 5 or 6 inches away from the top of the braid. Then put the braid inside the tail bag and tie the tail bag trough the braid.
