Rewards work great! Children and teenagers respond best if they have some kind of "instant gratification" or reward for working. As they mature, their work habits will be part of their lives, but when training them, you need to find some kind of reward. Teens enjoy rewards that help them meet their own goals, like help saving up for a car or electronic devise. You can also reason with a teen more than with a small child, and help them come up with a chart or graph showing their improvement. It's hard to remember sometimes, but teenagers are not mature; they still need much more frequent rewards than an adult. You should find something positive to do or say every day - more often if the teen has a learning disability and has to work especially hard to get ahead. When they slip up and fall behind, don't lecture or put them down - instead teach them that everyone makes mistakes, and you can always turn around and change your habits to better ones!

Well, it depends on a range of things: what sort of a family you have, what friends you have, what you want to do in the future and how much you care about that future are a few. Personally, I had a good home and family with supportive friends, but high hopes for my future. This meant that things were quite difficult for me, but not as bad as it could have been. However, some teenagers have bad homes, poor qualities of life, or have friends which make them feel invincible, like there's no point in working. This can make things much more difficult for teenagers. So all in all, the answer to your question depends on which particular teenager you are talking about.
Too general of a question. Please make it a little more specific.

"The meaning of hard work in a manual economy is clear. Without the leverage of machines and organizations, working hard meant producing more. Those days are long gone. Most of us don't use our bodies as a replacement for a machine - unless we're paying for the privilege and getting a workout at the gym... Even if you're a workaholic, you're not working very hard at all. Sure, you're working long, but "long" and "hard" are now two different things. In the old days, ... hard work meant more work...
"Working hard is like digging a well – the more effort you put in, the deeper your success will flow."
