Hover the cursor over their post content and on the right a hide icon will appear. If the post is an application you can opt to hide the person only and all their posts will be hidden or hide the application and all posts from all friends related to that app will be hidden but any other types of posts will be visible. Helpful if friends do or play things that you don't or aren't of interest.
