Chicken manure must be aged well or it will burn your plants.

Most chicken coop clean out will contain wood shaving or straw.This can be piled in a far corner of your property and summer grass clipping plus autumn leaves are added to the compost.

Water the pile well if you are having a dry summer. Turn with pitchfork once per month to allow oxygen and insects.

By the spring of the following year this compost can be worked into your garden. Chicken manure compost has a very high nitrogen content.
