DIRECTIONS Whisk together the flour and salt. Blend in shortening until it looks like crumbs. Combine together egg, vinegar, and water. Pour into flour mixture, and mix together. Roll dough out between wax paper; Use as directed in recipe

Apple Crumb Pie Recipe

Ingredients

1) pastry for 1 pie shell

2) 6 cooking apples

3) 2 tsp. lemon juice

3)1 cup all purpose flour

4)1 cup packed brown sugar

5) 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

6) 1/2 tsp. ground ginger

7) 1/4 tsp. ground mace

8) 1/2 cup butter or margarine

Instructions

Pare apples, cut into eighths and remove core and skin. Sprinkle with lemon juice while placing in a mixing bowl. When all apples are prepared , sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar, tossing to mix. Arrange apples in unbaked pie shell.

Mix together flour, brown sugar, and spices; cut in butter until crumbly. Spoon evenly over apples. Bake in oven in a 400° oven for 40 to 45 minutes.
