Well it really depends on its personality! Treat him/her to carrots, celery etc. and play with it often. Make sure it gets lots of excersice and eats just the right amount! Remember: They only want to be loved! So cuddle, feed and play with it often!

kind of like how your parents sometimes spoil you. buy them lots of treats. Hold them all the time, play with them, buy them a new cage every once in a while.
