I've found that if you put out a bird feeder, you will feed the squirrels! LOL
I saw a post on another site that had the following squirrel treat recipe:
Take a pinecone and tie a string around the center with about 4' left for hanging. Use a butterknife or spoon to fill all the crevasses with peanut butter. Roll in birdseed, then hang it outside from a tree or other support.
The original poster came back and made a comment that you might want to use a thin wire to hang it, as one of her squirrels keeps chewing through the string and dragging the treat away!
