First, you have to write every single day and not skive off. You have to write more than just a few minutes, too. Do not edit at all -- write whatever you think about down and keep going! Here are some tips:

  • Get up half an hour early and write during that time - and/or
  • Stay up half an hour later and write during that time
  • When you start getting those thoughts like "I wonder what's on Facebook" or "I should be doing my laundry" - write those down in your story! It's not about the quality with NaNoWriMo -- it's about the word count!
