I'm sorry but I think this is impossible to say since overprotective parents rarely think themselves that they are overprotective.
Make them trust you. Don't lie to them. Also, the more they get to know you the more comfortable they'll be with you. Spend time with them and your girlfriend so they see that they don't need to be overprotective. But if you're a jerk, I hope they continue to be overprotective.

What I'd do is sit them down and let them know that they need you listen to you before you say anything. If they refuse to listen, there's no getting through them. Once you've done that, slowly explain how you two became a couple and make sure you make your boyfriend sound good!
