Take your cloth, usually canvas and brush, spray or dip it in linseed oil and then hang to dry. It make take several applications.

No. But if you go to your local fabric store you can find some products that you can hand wash the tapa cloth with that act as a preservative. Make sure you select one that can be used on your cloth - the incorrect one can damage it AND THIS IS TRUE STUFF!!! :)

It MUST be raw linseed oil if you are using the oil cloth in contact with any food. "Boiled" linseed oil has many toxic solvents, dryers, and other additives. You might consider purchasing the linseed oil (flax seed oil) from a health food store rather than a hardware store.
To make oil from moringa seed, freshly shelled seeds should always be used for extract. To extract the oil from the seed, crush the seed, add water by about 10 percent, and heat for 10-15 minutes. After boiling, strain the liquid through a cloth and leave overnight for setting of the oil.
