I don't know how to have triplets (I'm trying to find out too.) But I do know how to have twins.
1. Get your adult female Sim pregnant
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + C
3. Type in "force twins" (No quotes.)

Yes you can have babies on sims 2. Yes you can have triplets on sims 3, you have to watch kids tv and listen to kids music at the same time.

∙ 15y agoHaving triplets is extremely rare on the Sims 2. None of the expansion packs really bump up this rarity in the game. Just like it's rare in real life, they've made it a rare occurrence on the game as well. So it's just a luck of the draw.
Check out modthesims2.com and get the Triplets hack. This patch will make your Sims much more likely to have triplets when they Try for a Baby. Just download the hack and place it into your Documents\EA Games\Sims 2\Downloads folder. If you don't have a downloads folder, you can create one yourself - just be sure to spell it correctly. Then enable Custom Content from the options menu inside the game. You may have to restart the game after enabling them.

Your sim has to be wearing maternity clothes and then repeatedly watch Kidz zone and listen to kids music. You also have to buy the fertiliser a few minutes before the babies are born. Don't forget to read the pregnancy books.
