I take it you've had this conversation with him before and he wasn't listening then. Sometimes the truth hurts and he obviously didn't like what you had to say about his drinking. Good for you! At least you cared enough to talk to him and the rest is up to him. It's not uncommon for young men to drink be it modestly or, on weekends getting drunk. However, if they are argumentative, fighting with their buddies or with you all the time then the drinker has a problem. You can't make anyone do something they don't want to do. He has to go down this road himself. Hopefully, he'll mature and get interested in other things besides bashing beer cans on his forehead and belching. I think you care a lot even though he dumped you, you want to help him. Move on! He wants a drinking partner or people around him with the same habit(s) he has. You don't provide that for him and whatever you do, don't join him in his little adventure because you are the one that will get hurt. Perhaps in time, he may see you were right and come back, but if he doesn't, consider yourself lucky and move on to someone that cares about you more than booze. Good luck hon Marcy
nope
No. You wouldn't get enough alcohol in your system to be positive.
Alcohol is no reason to say sorry for how he is treating you. If he cannot handle his booze then he shouldn't be drinking and if he is drinking you should avoid him altogether. If you find this behaviour persists and happens as well when he is sober it is best to get out of the relationship as soon as possible.
