Take te child lock off of the door
Hint: Have you checked the child-proof door lock button located in the door's door jamb to make certain it is in the unlocked position?
There is not release. The fuel door has a lock. When the doors are locked, the fuel door is locked. When the doors are unlocked the fuel door is unlocked. When the doors are unlocked, press on the front of the fuel door (the side closest to the front of the car). It should pivot open.
Make sure the door lock is set to the unlocked position, then pull on the door handle.
The rear door lock on a 1996 Chevy Suburban will not open if the mechanism has become jammed or the child lock switch has been flipped. If the child lock has been engaged, they must be unlocked from the front first.
Hey Christina==It is on the door edge above the lock assy on the rear of the door. GoodluckJoe
On the 1987 300 SDL, the fuel door is operated by the vacuum lock system. I own one and have since 1996. When you unlock your driver's side door, is the passenger front seat door also unlocked? If not the vacuum leak is at or between these 2 locks. If it is unlocked, then is the rear right hand door (starboard) unlocked? You trouble shoot in this sequence. The lock for the fuel door is next, then the trunk, finally the port side rear door. Hope this helps!
Unlocked is a past tense verb and an adjective. Verb: Dave unlocked the door just before the icicle fell. Adjective: Please lock all the unlocked doors.
Using the internal door opener catch, if this does not work open the door from the outside and look for a small button near the door latch mechanism, this is called a child lock and prevents the door from being opened by small children when in the child lock position. If you move the slider button to the opposite position this will allow the internal door handle to open the door.
There isn't a fuel door release button on a 2001 or any Porsche Boxster. When the doors to the car are locked the fuel door also locks but when the doors are unlocked the fuel door will unlock. Open the fuel door and lock the doors and you can see how the mechanism works.
Open the door and in the lock itself is a keyhole. Insert your ignition key into the hole in the lock and turn a quarter turn. This will lock the child lock and obviously ,turn in the other direction to unlock. Rory
The door does not lock with the "door lock" button from the inside to prevent locking your key inside of the car. Simply turn the key in the door when you close it to lock all the doors.
As long as the door is locked on the outside, the inside door lock of a keyed doorknob will also always be locked from the inside.
