Halo: Reach takes place before ALL the halo games. I heard from a friend that Halo 4 will be coming out. I did some research on Halo 4 and, yes, there will be another Halo called "Halo 4" where Master Cheif returns. My friend also told me about a Halo 5, too, but he lied.I meant that it is the forth halo made by bungie excluding ODST regardless of the triology order. But you are right, Halo: Reach is not Halo 4, but I answered this question before Halo 4 was announced and I had no idea that 343 industries was going to continue on with the story of Master Chief.

Well lets see... Its still a month or so until its out and since they wont be making another halo for a while... Id say 4-5 years or possibly never. But that's just my guess, if they make another halo game it would be realeased before the new one came out just like how halo wars and halo3 was released around when reach was announced. -(update) I don't know if the previous answer helped from the other guy.....but if you check out the latest video of unboxing halo reach, towards the end, they say that on the day of Halo: Reach's Release (09/14/2010), the game will be available for download....without (I think) RECON helmet....but who gives a ------ anyways?!

The Pillar of Autumn escapes Reach and after carrying out the Cole Protocol finds Halo and Keyes decides to land on it. Read your books, and play your games. the guy who wrote the second awnser is right. the order of the games should be; halo reach- halo 1- halo 2- halo 3 & halo 3 ODST.
