As we all know, Transformers are majorly used in substations. Transformers are specified with their Copper loss & Iron loss impedance (similar to resistance in DC circuits) which are generally considered with AC supply. Therefore, we can calculate the total impedance by

  • analyzing the substation installation blue prints OR
  • using parameters Input voltage, currents & Output voltage current taking the whole substation as a single unit with the help of phasor diagrams.

Here, you'll have to consider if the transmission is double circuited or else likewise.

What is mean by earth resistance tester?

I think it measures characteristics of soil to determine its suitability underneath a plant or substation. One way to measure resistance of the earth is with four conductors in a straight line -- the two outer ones inject a current, and the two center ones measure the voltage. From these two known quantities and Ohm's Law, R=V/I gives the resistance. Earth is not a great "earth," and electrical equipment and building designers strive for a resistance of one ohm. The earth seldom rarely complies with this.

What is a mini-substation?

A substation that is smaller than the average substation. A substation converts electric power from one voltage to another.

What is pooling substation?

The Substation which comes power from the power plant know as pooling substation.

The will measure resistance only?

The ohmmeter is usually used to measure the resistance of a given wire only.

How do you measure the unknown resistance?

Measure the voltage V and current I and compute the unknown Resistance R=V/I.

How do you measure the resistance in a parallel circuit?

You have to measure the voltage, and the current. The resistance is then calculated by using Ohm's Law.

Why meter bridge can't be used to measure low resistance and high resistance?

used to measure low Resistance since it must reach a null.

What is the ohm unit used to measure?

Ohms measure electrical resistance. The resistance in ohms is the voltage divided by the current.

What device is used to measure the resistance of a resistor?

You can use a multi-meter to measure resistance. The specific portion of the meter for measuring resistance is called an ohmmeter.
