they made a safe place for the victim and make sure there was no other injuries and splinted it and make it lay flat They would hold the patient down, then pull the broken bone back into place to the best of their ability, when it felt about right they would splint it and hope for the best.

The broken bone is put into its correct alignment and held there, usually with a plaster cast. Then all you have to do is leave it in peace and the bone will grow back together pretty much the same way a cut will heal. If it's a bad break it might need an operation to insert pins and plates to keep the pieces in place.

Their treatment methods were really painful. They would try to pull the broken bone back into place. When they would feel that everything is right, they would splint the broken bone.

If a leg is broken, it will need a cast and medical condition. After the cast is put on, the leg will have to heal for weeks.

A broken leg in the 1800s was treated with a rudimentary splint. Two twigs were positioned around the leg and tied in place.

It was done with a splint: two boards (or anything rigid, even two medium-sized tree branches) tied to the leg on opposite sides.

What ever they could.

With luck, there'd be someone around to "set the bone" - pull it back into alignment.

Then they'd splint it, leave it be and hope it'd heal right.
