How do you move the things in your slots in World of Warcraft?

With equipment slots, right-clicking an item in your inventory will prompt to move it into the correct gear slot. Otherwise, you can also left-click the item, hold the mouse button, and drag it to the corresponding gear slot. This is especially useful with offhand weapons, trinkets and rings, where you can have two slots but the game always tries to put the item in the first slot of the two.

When removing a piece of gear, you will have to manually drag it into your inventory - right-clicking it will not remove it automatically.

When referring to Glyph slots, the same logic applies - right-click the glyph you want to use, and left-click the glyph slot where you want to place the glyph.

When trying to move items around inside your inventory, you can drag and drop an item to any empty slot and it will go there. Alternatively, if you drop it on top of another item, the two will switch places. This will only happen if both slots could hold that piece of gear (for instance, you can't switch a herb and a piece of armor into a herbing bag, because the armor can't go into a herbing bag).
