If you think you may not be able to help yourself from harming your father, you should call 911 nowand ask for help. If you are an adult, you need to make an emergency appointment with your doctor. He or she can make sure you get appropriate care from a therapist, medical professional, or social services agency. If these thoughts are invasive (you don't want to have them, but you do) or persistent, you should check yourself in to the nearest behavioral health unit in your area today. (You can call your local hospital to see if they have a unit. )They will protect you from yourself until they are sure you are safe from being harmed or harming your father.
