If you work with him or are more familiar, he may permit you to refer to him as "Chief." If referring to a Warrant Officer in a conversation with a third party, you would refer to him as "Warrant Officer __________."

If the officer reasonably believes the warrant is valid, then the officer is protected from any legal (or civil) consequence.
