If you are in a forest anywhere in the world you can look for two pieces of the same wood because if they are different firmness one will eat the other not making a coal. one must be flat the other one must be long and about 1-2 inch's in diameter. Then make a small indent at the edge of the flat piece of wood and cut a wedge out of it so the coals can fall to the ground and fit the other long one on the indent then rub your hands together with the branch in between them to cause as much friction as possible. Then a coal will start to form because of the wedge. Take that and put it on tinder( birch bark, horses hoof fungus, dry moss or dry grass) an blow lightly to create a small flame provided that you have the patience and determination.
Well it's quite simple really (until you get to the end.) Because it is a rain FOREST there will be trees, which means wood, so all you really have to do is collect some wood from the trees and rub it together (which is the hard part.)
Cloud-to-ground lightning naturally starts hundreds of forest fires every day.

Are you referring to a rain forest? A rain forest has a lot of vegetation and receives a lot of rain.
well given the fact that most forest fires start from lightning..... you tell me
which layer of the rain forest does fire ants live?
Possibly a forest fire. That would leave the forest as a meadow or prairie, to start all over again.
It could either be caused by a lack of moisture due to no rain, or someone may have ignited the forest fire by not putting out a camp fire correctly, or dropping a cigarette in some brush.
even though its called a tropical RAIN forest it still can get on fire
