You let the sheep grow wool for a year and than shear it off with scissors or a razor specially designed to shear sheep. Some sheep shed their wool making the whole process of shearing unneeded, at least for that breed. You can just pull the fibers and it come off.

Do farmers get wool?

Yes, farmers can obtain wool from sheep through a process called shearing, which involves cutting the fleece off the sheep once a year. The collected wool is then processed and sold for various uses, including textiles and clothing. Farmers may raise specific breeds of sheep that are known for producing high-quality wool.

Is wool a natural resource?

The answer is yes. Wool is a natural resource because it comes from a sheep when a farmer shaves it. It is partly man-made because it requires a series of procedures to turn the wool from the kind that comes straight from the sheep to the kind that we wear in sweaters and socks. Die is also frequently added to give the clothing colour. Wool is not a renewable natural resource.

How did you take wool from animals?

Wool is called fleece when it starts. You shear it off of a lamb or sheep. This is done once or twice a year, depending on the type of sheep and where they live. Shearing is just a short hair cut for the sheep, and if it is done correctly, it doesn't harm the sheep at all. After the fleece is cut off the sheep, it is washed, dried, combed out (carded), then spun into wool yarn or thread. White wool can be dyed to get many different colors. This can all be done by machines or by hand.
